Phunny Pharm Phestival.
Whew.
Just beat.
4 days of music, food, the river, the kids, the dancing, the wish basket, herb, booze, more booze, lazing by the river, crawdads, meeting new friends and old friends alike.
Took some visiting couchsurfers from Germany and Switzerland and, believe it or not, Portland.
They laughed, they cried, they got schooled on what a real Djembe player can do with dead goat skin.

Stella had a blast, on the river at 0800, off the river at dark...then off to dance with me around the fire while Dos Panchos played roots rock and Reggae/Americana.
Why don't more Dads dance with their kids?
We had Fire Dancers Friday night and then I took the stage for a set, my wife's belly dance troupe took over and then back up on stage till about 2300 for me and some friends.
We blew out the PA head at 2301...dammit.
I shot some vid which I will post shortly.
As to Summer 2010...
Well, crap surf locally but four trips to SC and Big Sur paid off.
Epic surf twice and very good surf twice,
excellent surf partners to travel with helped.
But otherwise, pretty shitty.
True, I have a backpocket full of hot sunny days but all them were spent somewhere else.
My garden started laughing back in July and by mid-August, it was its own joke.
Just not enough heating days for anything to grow.
So, well, it was a Summer.
I laughed, I lost. I learned to love cool gray days.I made some new friends.
Shaped three boards, bought one.
Learned that a SUP isn't so bad in larger surf if it will let you power it around.Learned that at almost 50, I can still get a schoolboy crush.
Stella and I had maybe 15 days on the beach but it was better than nothing.
As to the post I made a few days a go...
I am trying move to XXXXX XXXX, because it suits me.
My place is of the Sun, dammit. But getting C to go...oh boy.
Have my work cut out for me but plenty of time.
Still pissed though.
Anyway, video later of the weekend.
School starts tomorrow.
And so does Oregon's prime surf season.
Bring it, both of them.
Oh, benefit of having and hosting couchsurfers.
Sabrina, Germany, currently bound for BC and then to...Hawaii, Bali, New Zealand, Oz and then home.
And yes, she surfs.

lolz.
wut?
