Actually, no....
I was invited up to Portland for a recording session last week so I spent three days in the woodshed in preparation for the gig.
We (my former bandmates and I) had the studio's of CCC at our disposal for 16 hours, complete with an engineer.
Most don't know it but I also play a bunch of instruments...
Guitar, mandolin, harp, flute, drums, bass, percussion, harmonica...and I arrange and write too.
We had a good band going here for a time but the drummer moved and we were unable to find another one who was as good or at least as open minded as our original drummer.
So we split it up, I went my own way with a looper pedal as my sidekick.
But when I started shaping, I put the music on the back burner.
We did some recording back then, mostly on a 4 track in the basement...
But those tapes made it to a guy in Portland who called the music "genius"...no shit.
So Jon got a hold of me, offered up the studio time and away we went.
We pulled in more percussion and a guy named Zinc to do the dij work.
It was fun working with all of that gear, the studio was state of the art.
Jon has the masters...or digital masters, we recorded over 26 gig of stuff.
Geez.
We wrote half of the session on the spot and used some older material with some fresh angles.
We sound like...
Well...
I don't know.
Indigo Girls meet PiL after a threesome with the Spacegoats.
So thats where I have been.
Cool.
See ya.
