Friday

.

Cool session this morning with knee junk offering up some shorebreak diving excursions.
Three lams down on the sup, two to go plus hotcoats.
Its gaining weight.
I cut railbands from 4 oz cloth for the upper two thirds of both sides.
For those who like to play wack-a-rail with a paddle.
I guess I set the bottom up for a tri fin or a big single with sidebites,
My old sup, I could pop the fin out easily, this new shape has more curve through the tail but lots more V.
I would run it as a single mostly.

I have faith that the glassing schedule along with a cheater lam coat, two PU glue stringers and added glass to the rails will hold up.
Flex is good.
Buckling is not.
But stringers can be inventive.
Some skinny on the topic.
I haven't snapped a board in a bit, the nose on one recently, I stressed a Harbour from nose to tail.
I came off the bottom a few years ago at Rincon and hit a rock with my fin.
That snapped off the tail.
But no, been lucky.
That and the whole wave breaking on my head thing I tend to avoid.

If the sup board does show too much flex, I can route out channels and drop stringers in.
Really.
But if it all goes well, I should end up with a very responsive sup that glides despite it's short length.
Bah.
See ya.
